God Created us to be Creative

It is time for the church to be healed, God wants to use the body of Christ in creative ways to reach our culture. When we reject our Divine Design by the Creator the result is worship of the creature. One of the most visible ways this is seen is in the LGBTQ+ culture, which is not something new. Scripture reveals it is spiritual in nature. As a nation, we have turned away from worship of the Creator, the Lord God Almighty. As the heart turns away from the Lord, we are turned over to false worship of the creature.

The devil uses ignorant legislators to pass depraved laws that cause the downfall of the family and the nation. He also uses ignorant Christians who don’t rightly divide the truth, who neglect their duty as watchmen on the wall and spiritual gatekeepers of the land, who don’t fast, pray and stand. Christians who either don’t vote at all or vote for legislators that pass laws against traditional marriage of one man, one woman, protection of the unborn and children. There is an aggressive attack against the youth of America with the intent to depopulate the nation and create a cast system.

(A caste system is an artificial construction, a fixed and embedded ranking of human value that sets the presumed supremacy of one group against the presumed inferiority of other groups, traits that would be neutral in the abstract but are ascribed life-and-death meaning in a hierarchy favoring the dominant caste, whose forebears designed it.)

Romans 1: 20-32 For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore, God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

The hour is late, the time is short, Esther’s and Mordecai’s we must rise and take action against Haaman’s decree of death. The Role of a Coach

The English dictionary defines a coach as a mentor, teacher, trainer, tutor, or educator. In Muscogee Creek Native American language, a student would call their teacher Mvhayv, pronounced Mahiya; in Japanese, someone may call their teacher Sensei.

But a life coach is different than the dictionary definition. Life coaching approaches a conversation with the learner differently. Coaches do not just teach what someone should do; they help individuals discover what they should do to be their best. The coach does so by using active listening skills, asking in-depth questions, expanding thought processes, identifying limiting belief systems, designing action steps, and following up with accountability.

As western culture believers attending a Sunday service, we seldom give any attention or thought to what is preached after we hear it. We have not developed the art of critical thinking, which is not the same as criticism. Critical thinking is disciplined, clear, rational, open-minded, and informed by evidence. Thinking about what was preached, discovering the deeper personal meaning of what you heard, and receiving insight into your life is critical.

I think of Mr Miyagi (Sensei) in the movie Karate Kid. He was trying to teach Daniel the principles of the art through practical service. Daniel could only see the hard work but not the lesson learned in the work. Similar to many believers, they don’t learn lessons for their personal life from the Scripture because they do not know how to meditate and assimilate the teaching.

They may memorize the written Word but miss the principles and revelation the Holy Spirit wants to impart from the Word. No one can give another person revelation. Coaches can only give information and may sometimes be an inspiration. But only the Holy Spirit gives revelation and impartation that brings transformation in a person’s life.

Many who attend a Sunday service are open to being taught by the pastor, but few are willing for the pastor to touch their life as a coach. A coach needs permission from their student to disciple them and to challenge their mindsets and methods of operation. People are often too enmeshed in their mindsets and methods which leads to feelings of being attacked and offense when challenged.

I thank God for the Holy Spirit, the greatest coach of all. I am grateful for those the Lord has brought into my life who challenge me to grow in my potential. Often, they challenge me beyond my skill set and comfort zone. The Holy Spirit is so patient with us as we grow. He doesn’t expect us to be perfect; He expects us to be willing to be perfected.

James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

The Greek word for perfect is Teleios, commonly translated as “perfect.” We read in Matthew 5:48, “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” However, this translation is less than perfect as the original Greek telesis means wholeness and completeness that happens at the end of something. When we see Him face to face at the end of our days, we will be like Him. Just as God is complete, whole and perfect, Jesus inspires us to live in His completeness, knowing we are being perfected by His love.

Who Said You Couldn’t?

Whenever an opportunity presents itself, the first response from most humans is, “I could never do that.” “I can’t afford that.” “I can’t speak in front of people.” or jokingly say, “That’s above my paygrade.”

We seem to naturally side with the negative voice in our head and dismiss the opportunity to miss out on the potential growth, breakthrough, and blessing. Subconsciously, we are self-sabotaging. Have you ever asked the Lord why you do that to yourself?

I remember when asked to serve for a five year term on the Board of Trustees for Northern Essex Community College. I laughed out loud to myself, who me? Are you kidding? I did what Moses did when God said He was sending him to speak on His behalf to Pharaoh. I listed all the reasons I was not qualified. God is so patient with us, but He loves us too much to leave us to ourselves, thank God!

I love the discipline of the Lord. It produces lasting fruit. He corrected me in His loving but firm way. It’s not because of your qualifications that I have opened this door. It is because of My kingdom plan to use you in this setting as a witness for My Glory.

I love His correction. “It’s not about you; it’s never been about you, and as soon as you get over you, I can use you for my kingdom business.” Aren’t I (we) a hoot! We pray for God to send us as a light into the community. Then, when He opens a door, we resist Him steadfast in the faith- the counterfeit faith we have in ourselves, our personality, education, power, and capability. Instead of obeying, we resist God, which is pride because we think we know ourselves better than God does. We evaluate ourselves based on what we know from our past. He evaluates what we can do based on what He has provided for us, if we just say yes and step into His grace.

I Peter 5b-11: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect (mature), establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

In this last trimester of my faith journey (if the Lord bids me), I plan on walking on water, speaking to mountains to be removed, commanding the dead to rise, casting out devils, prophesy to nations, and, if necessary, suffering the loss of all things for His name sake.

I invite you to join in the adventure of a lifetime by saying YES to the Lord and NO to every negative voice, both internally in your head and externally, spoken by others. Break the power and spirit of the words that come to sabotage your obedience, pull down strongholds that have kept you in a prison house of idolatry of self. Walk through every effective door that the Lord opens for you to be a powerful witness to Him.

Holy Spirit, come as You did in the upper room and fulfill Your Word. The infilling of the Holy Spirit takes our eyes and attention off of us onto Him. Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Philippians 4:13, says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” In Jesus Name, Amen! Believe it and watch what God will do with those who obey and say, “I can because God said so!
